Life and AD&D Insurance Basic Life and AD&D Insurance To protect those who rely on your income for their support, your employer pays the full cost of basic life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. This coverage is available to all full-time benefit eligible employees of an Ensign Services-affiliated company. The plan is administered by Unum and pays benefits upon your death. AD&D benefits are paid if your death is the result of a covered accident. If you die from an accidental injury, your beneficiary will receive both the basic life and AD&D benefit. AD&D also pays benefits if you are severely injured and suffer a loss such as the loss of a limb or eyesight.
